Our latest update to ONSO is our integration with Xero accounting software. Since the beginning, we wanted to create a platform that made life easier and worked seamlessly with existing accounting processes.
In our experience, using spreadsheets, emails and hard-copy order books for purchase orders causes mistakes. It can be particularly tricky when those placing orders are using different systems to those looking after the accounts. Where those systems aren’t in sync or are used differently, there are plenty of problems that might arise. Information might be completed incorrectly. Sometimes, prices aren’t up to date. Other times, order numbers are duplicated. There is a long list of problems that could cause financial loss, embarrassment to your business and time to resolve.
With ONSO and Xero, we have created a solution to avoid these errors and keep your accountant informed of real-time spending. The key features of the Xero integration include.
· Sending purchase order data directly from ONSO to Xero – this means that your accountant stays up to date with real-time purchase order information, including orders for review, approved orders and completed orders.
· Easy invoice matching – your accountant can easily match purchase orders with invoices through Xero, meaning a more efficient process to create a Bill to Pay.
· Transfer supplier addresses and contact numbers – if your supplier details have already been inputted into your Xero account then you do not need to input it into ONSO. ONSO can sync up this data and create new suppliers instantly.
· Sync up purchase order sequencing – ONSO automatically generates its own order number, but if you already have an order number sequence assigned on Xero, ONSO will learn this and follow the sequence that you already have in place.
These features make a big difference to the transparency of purchasing data. It will enable your accountant to have the full picture of day-to-day spending and give them a clearer forecast of the business’s financial position.
We’re continuing to develop the integration with Xero and in the near future, we will be able to facilitate even more detailed spending forecasts. For now, we are excited by what we have created so far and what it can do for your business.
We’d love to hear from you about how your business does purchase ordering and what you would like from ONSO.
